Green Onion Pattern
Green Onion Pattern
This crochet pattern is for the cutest little amigurumi Green Onion.
An original pattern by Fat Lady Crochet. Please note: this is a crochet pattern, not the finished physical item. If you were hoping for a real green onion, I admire your commitment to the unconventional, but this won't season your stir-fry.
This easy (but not beginner) crochet pattern is written in US terms and is designed for crocheters who know their way around a hook, can count past ten without using their fingers, and don’t mind a bit of sewing. Lots of photos are included to guide you along the way, because I like to set you up for success, not suffering.
You will need:
- 50 grams of size 4 worsted weight yarn in White
- 25 grams each of size 4 worsted weight yarn in Light Green, Dark Green
- Scrap amounts of size 4 worsted weight yarn in Black, Pink
- Crochet hook size G (4.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
- Tapestry needle (aka your tiny weapon against loose ends)
- Fiber Fill (so your onion isn’t just a sad pile of yarn)
- Stitch marker (unless you enjoy living dangerously)
Notes:
- The Green Onion’s legs and body are worked in one piece (because I’m nice like that).
- The Green Onion’s top and arms are worked separately and sewn on (it builds character, I promise).
- The Green Onion is worked in continuous rounds from the bottom up.
- The finished Green Onion stands roughly 11 inches tall, making it the perfect companion for your kitchen, desk, or anywhere else you need a tiny, judgmental vegetable.
Thank you for supporting my small, Canadian, woman-owned business. Please do sell lots of your finished onions, but credit @fat.lady.crochet on Instagram and Fat Lady Crochet on Facebook. You do not have permission to sell, publish, or reproduce this pattern anywhere—if you do, my crochet army will find you.
This is an instant PDF download, NOT the finished crochet piece. Once payment has been received, you will be able to download this pattern. If you have trouble downloading, please message me. Sorry, no returns, refunds, or exchanges on PDF downloads.
Now go forth and make some tiny onions!
