Trish, the lady behind Fat Lady Crochet

Hello, I'm Trish and I wanted to welcome you to my website.  I hope you've found some fun designs in here.  Heaven knows I have fun making them.

I live in Lethbridge, Alberta with my husband and our 2 daughters.  I've been crocheting since 1999, when I learned while living in northern Alberta.  It was my first teaching job and my husband and I were living in a very very remote community.  In the winter, there wasn't a whole lot to do, but one of my fellow teachers showed me how to make a dishcloth.  After that, the sky was the limit.  Well sort of.  Anything that takes too long (blankets, sweaters...) is my limit.  I've got a pretty short attention span and too many ideas.  Spending a lot of time on one project just isn't something I've been able to do.

In 2005, we moved from northern Alberta to southern Alberta, where we could be closer to my family.  I spent about 12 years working in various jobs but always fantasized about crocheting full time.  In 2018, after getting totally fed up with my job, I happily resigned and began the journey of creating a business out of my creative outlet.

I'll leave out the details that have brought me to where I am now, but stay tuned to this blog space because there are some things I want to share with you, especially if you're starting down this path yourself.

I've made a lot of friends and loyal customers over the last few years so please do leave a comment and let me know who you are and where you're from!
