Cute Alien Amigurumi Pattern – Quick & Fun Crochet Project

Trish Hoskin

If you've ever wondered how to crochet a little alien, you're in the right place! I've been desigining crochet patterns for many years... long enough to collect a mix of great ideas AND some real duds, haha! But some of these old patterns deserve some love. I'm refreshing and reworking some of them into something modern, polished and totally FREE for you here in the blog.

Today’s makeover features one of my early favorites: a tiny amigurumi alien. The original version was stitched in bright green with two strands of worsted-weight yarn and a size 4 hook. In this updated pattern, you’ll see the little alien worked in soft DK 100% GREY cotton (because... "small greys") using a size 3 hook for cleaner stitches and a smoother finish.

If you prefer full downloadable PDFs, you’ll find them in my shop, and if you love step-by-step video tutorials, you can access premium pattern videos by becoming a member on YouTube.

Enjoy this reimagined and easy crochet alien pattern!

Love, Trisherini

Materials

  1. Size 3 DK 100% cotton yarn in Grey, Black, and White
  2. Size 3 (3.0 mm) crochet hook
  3. Fiber fill
  4. Yarn needle
  5. Stitch counter (optional)

Notes

This little alien is crocheted in continuous rounds from the bottom up. The eyes and arms are made separately and sewn on. If the joining round feels tricky, don’t worry - watch this helpful video! Trust me, once you see it in action, you’ll love how simple it actually is.

I'm going to go back into some of those old designs and re-work them into something new and free for you here! First up is our little alien, which began in green and worked with 2 strands of worsted weight yarn held together and a size 4 hook. These days, I've been using DK 100% cotton with a 3 hook, so that's what you'll see here in this update. Enjoy!

What you're going to need:

  • size 3 dk 100% cotton yarn in Grey, Black, White
  • Size 3 crochet hook
  • fiber fill
  • yarn needle
  • stitch counter if you use it.

Notes: - this little guy is worked in continuous rounds from the bottom up. The eyes and arms are worked separately and sewn on. I think you're going to have fun with this one! Don't forget to tag me in your socials! And join me on mine!
